A WEEK IN PICTURES
Did you have a pen pal when you were a teenager?
When was it the last time that you wrote and sent a good old-fashioned hand-written letter to someone? I had that pen friend when I was around 15 years old. She was Parisian and had the most beautiful name. She might read this because we’re still connected on Instagram. Salut Aurore! I will never forget the arrival of a new letter or parcel and the excitement that came with it. I loved it. Only ten years later, we had finally met in person - and in Paris. Another 15 years later, I’m living only 2.5 hours faraway from Paris (thank you Eurostar). However, the pandemic stopped any traveling. How am I supposed to visit friends now? How am I supposed to spend my holidays? And how the hell do I meet new people? Somehow (keeping a little secret here) I did get to know someone new. This week, I got reminded that there are creative ways to getting to know someone. It definitely made me smile every single day this week. Instead of a usual reply, my inbox just announced: a week in pictures. Great!
At the end of the day, I found a picture or two in my inbox, took them, and sketched them on my iPad. I had fun with it whilst also greatly switching off from work because there is more to life than just work! Thank you, M., here are the sketches with some comments ;-).
